"For the poor will never cease from the land; therefore I command you, saying, ‘You shall open your hand wide to your brother, to your poor and your needy, in your land." Deuteronomy 15:11 (NKJV)
Medical Missions
For many years, our Baptist mission teams from Oklahoma and Indiana have performed medical missions in multiple areas of the world. These teams provide basic medical care to the poor and also spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.
In Nicaragua, with advanced notice to the local Pastor, our teams go to small villages and perform needed medical health care. Local villagers will walk several miles for this assistance. While the medical team is at the various villages, the children are examined then attend various Bible School type activities, and then each adult is conferred with. Each person in attendance is presented with the Gospel.
In June 2017, during just one week of medical mission work, 46 adults made professions of faith. After professions are made, the local Pastor then provides additional assistance to each family. Our churches will continue the medical mission work into Honduras beginning in 2019.
